Erwin Raphael McManus is an artist, entrepreneur, and founder of MOSAIC, a community of faith in L.A. Committed to live by faith, to be known by love, and to be a voice of hope, MOSAIC is considered one of the most influential and innovative churches in America.
Engaging such issues as culture, creativity, change and leadership, McManus is widely known as a thought-provoking communicator and a cultural pioneer. He has traveled to over 50 countries and spoken to more than a million people from professional sports, Wall Street, universities, film studios, and conferences across the world.
McManus is the author of several leading books on spirituality and creativity. His latest book, The Artisan Soul: Crafting Your Life Into a Work of Art, was released in February 2014. Beyond writing, McManus has delved into numerous other creative endeavors such as filmmaking, acting and fashion design. McManus contends that creativity is the essence of human uniqueness and a natural expression of spirituality.
McManus earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Southeastern University.
Born in El Salvador, McManus moved to the United States with his family as a boy. He and his wife, Kim, live in California and have two grown children.
