When Jon Gordon was a young man, he risked losing everything. After rising to success at an early age, things suddenly started to fall apart and he found himself unemployed, close to bankruptcy, and in a crumbling marriage. Caught in a cycle of complaining, blaming and judging, he realized that his negativity was destroying him. After discovering and pursuing ways to make positive changes in his own life, he set out to share those teachings with others.

Gordon is passionate about showing leaders, companies and teams that choosing to be positive leads to joy and success. Through his coaching, best-selling books and engaging speeches, Gordon teaches the principles of his book The No Complaining Rule, showing how to focus on creating solutions, rather than solving problems.

The philosophy of Gordon’s teachings reaches a broad range of organizations. He and his team have worked with professional sports teams and coaches, Fortune 500 companies, schools, hospitals and nonprofits. Gordon’s client roster features the Atlanta Falcons, Southwest Airlines, Publix, Wells Fargo and West Point Academy.

Gordon has authored several books, including The Wall Street Journal best-seller The Energy Bus, Soup, The No Complaining Rule, Training Camp and The Carpenter. He holds a master’s degree in teaching from Emory University and is an alumnus of Cornell University.

Gordon enjoys playing lacrosse and tennis with his wife and two children.
