Mark A. Floyd is the Chairman and CEO of Cyan Inc., a global industry-leading packet-optical and software innovator for carrier and enterprise networks. Additionally, he serves on the board of Riverbed Technology, Inc.
Prior to Cyan, Floyd was the CEO of SafeNet, Inc., Entrisphere, Inc., Siemens Information and Communications Networks U.S., and Efficient Networks, Inc. Prior to Efficient, he held executive positions at Networth, Inc., Interphase Corporation, and Scott Instruments Inc. He started his career with Texas Instruments, Inc.
Floyd was the recipient of the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and El Dorado Ventures Entrepreneur of the Year award for 1999. He has also served as a senior advisor to Ericsson, Siemens, 3COM, Azure Capital, Crosspoint Venture Partners, El Dorado Ventures, and SR Funds. Floyd has served on the board of directors of Tekelec Inc., Carrier Access Corp. (acquired by Turin Networks), NetSocket Inc., Occam, Inc., Siemens ICN, Sonoma Systems, Inc. (acquired by Nortel), Strix Systems, and SyChip, Inc. (acquired by Murata), and served on the Board of Regents of Southeastern University. He has a BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
